hey all! hope this post finds you well! it's honestly been 'A Hard Days Night - and I've been working like a dog'... looking forward to the next month off (well.. almost a month anyway!) Atlantic City has been great fun once again,(btw..extended YET again through the end of 2009!) but on to Crescent City California for a couple of nights, AND THEN some time off. check out the article on us in the Philly Daily News Entertainment section by Chuck Darrow. Nice Chap!
After me break, there's some really exciting stuff coming up, so stay tuned! we'll be in Lake Tahoe at Mont Bleu over the holiday weekend (Memorial Day) for a few nights unveiling the 'Best Of The Brits' featuring Yesterday and some of the esteemed members of Jumping Jack Flash - the Rolling Stones Tribute, and our good friend, George Trullinger as well. Really looking forward to that, and all of the shows on tap for this coming summer.
Looking forward to playing with me good mates Me & My Monkey while at home too! (is that your idea of time off?) so look for us in May!
Cheers then!
wow... 38 shows in 45 days... (whew!) is finally coming to an end tonight! it's been a long, long, long tour.. but, it's been a lot of fun too. almost every show sold out and we'd like to thank all of the the gracious people of Florida for their hospitality. alot of driving.. alot of fast food.. a lot of late nights..but the best part was me mates along the way! Jon Perry (as George), Doug Cox (as Ringo) and Bob Graham (as John) (Happy Birthday Bob!), and, i think most of all..we'd like to thank our new found friend... Connie Westberry of Westberry Audio and Lighting.("the reason we sound so good every night, is 'cause of him..." ;) ..this guy is just about the most professional, efficient, all around 'best guy' you'll ever meet.. if you ever need a sound tech in Florida.. you won't find a better one! not to mention.. a great friend as well! feel free to email me for his contact info.. you'll be glad you did! THANK YOU Mr. Westberry!
well.. a few short days off.. and then it's on to LSU in Baton Rouge for a 3 nighter (four shows) you can call the campus for details.. and then back to the Tropicana in Atlantic City at the famous Liverpool Club (in the North Tower)for a month...
"I'm soooo tired, I haven't slept a wink..."
cheers then!
recession reschmession! the crowds have been AWESOME here at the Trop in Atlantic City. even with the weather as 'discouraging' as it's been (snowing right now, and 28F !) we have played to full houses all week. also, if you have a chance, check out the 'Atlantic City Weekly' article (click here for article), and 'cover story' about Yesterday's indefinite stay here at the Trop! it's 'beatle-season' all year round here!
hey all! been enjoying being home, and really enjoying playing with Me & My Monkey again! which, since i've been getting a lot of emails about it, thought i'd go ahead and post all of the dates i'll be w/ Monkey here, and after the 20th (Jan) i'll be back at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, NJ for two weeks, and then on to Florida for a 30 city tour...
if you're in Dallas/Fort Worth for the holidays, come see the greatest band of ALL TIME, Me & My Monkey - The Beatles Tribute!
cheers then!
Anyone who knows me personally already knows how much a fan i am of the Arctic Monkeys. Their frontman, Alex Turner (along with the Rascals' Miles Kane and producer James Ford) has a side project called 'The Last Shadow Puppets', and here's a clip of them performing "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" Live in Liverpool. Just fantastic... (Alex is the one singing the second verse). Keep your eyes and ears open for the Arctic Monkeys... They're enormously popular in the rest of the world (once again...America doesn't get it yet...) and in my opinion, are as close to a modern day Beatles that we can get.
cheers then!
Thanks to our new found friends Nick, Kyle and Glenn Akutagawa! we met them in Sacramento while visiting the FabFour, and then weeks later, they came to see us in Stockton, CA. ...would like to thank Glenn for making the drive, and for the kind words, and welcome Kyle and Nick to the world of the Beatles! (what am I saying...these two young lads know more about the Beatles than all of us!) Thanks again mates! ...and thanks to Dick Cunico (Ringo) and Monte Mann (George) for taking the time to visit and snap a photo as well!
cheers then!
a few pics from our show in Hobbs, New Mexico recently with the Hobbs Southwest Symphony Orchestra. what an awesome show, and a great audience. the symphony really nailed all of the Beatles' orchestration, and even did a medley of their own, which was simply 'outstanding'. thanks to all in Hobbs for a great time! see you next year!
hey folks!
If you're in the Atlantic City New Jersey area, I'll be here at the Tropicana for the next three weeks, in the 'Liverpool Club' in the north tower, of course with 'Yesterday'. Shows are going well here, and got to meet Jon Perry, who plays George Harrison. Jon is a very skilled and talented musician/performer who played with 'Beatlemania Now' as George (before joining up with us) and even does his own show as well, playing McCartney in a 'Wings era' style show. Check him out! www.ramtribute.com ...and while on the world famous 'Boardwalk' here, come see "The British Are Coming" at the Trop... running for well over a year here, (the longest running show in Atlantic City!) and now..extended indefinitely!
cheers then! see you there!
